About Me

Day to day

Oh hi!

I'm a Cincinnati girl (okay, a Greater Cincinnati girl) who is very happy to call this city my home. When I'm not working or at school, I'm probably outside in a hammock with my nose deep in a novel, or inside in the kitchen with my nose deep in a cookbook. I've become a big foodie lately and I love making new recipes! I've also played the flute (and piccolo) since age ten, and I'm looking forward to the next time I can play in an orchestra. My ideal weekend involves a Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra performance at Music Hall after a trip to one of Cincy's many great restaurants. I'm a big fan of plants, yoga, and thrifting, too.

On campus

University of Cincinnati DAAP

I study Communication Design, a five-year program in the College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning. It's what you might call graphic design, but with a higher emphasis on using design as a communication mechanism to make the digital and physical worlds more accessible and understandable. I've fallen in love with this intersection of creativity, analytical problem-solving, and connecting with other people's minds.

Over the years I've gotten super involved within and outside of DAAP. I'm a DAAP Ambassador and serve on the Ambassador Board, so you'll see me giving tours to new students and speaking at family events. On campus, I've held positions as both Vice President and President of Democracy Matters, which is just one chapter of a national grassroots student organization. And in UHP, I'm an Ambassador, a Welcome Experience Coordinator, and a Student Assistant. You'll find me leading events for prospective, admitted, transition, and current students; giving presentations; and working in the office...so come say hi!

As if that's not enough, I've recently earned a Business Certificate in French as well as a Minor in French. Je suis ravie de continuer mes études dans plusieurs langues, et je souhaite d'en apprendre des autres!

Exploring Design

What's next?

Part of what I love so much about DAAP is its co-op program. I've completed three semesters of work and am currently in the midst of my fourth in Spring 2023. My first co-op experience was very unique: I worked for a professional glassblower as an assistant and marketing designer, and after four months I came away with many of my own glassblown pieces to prove it.

My second and third co-op semesters were with Quotient Technology, where I contributed to many advertising design tasks, video and animation projects, and an interactive brand guide. I've found that I crave having my hands in a lot at once!

Now, at Live Well Collaborative, I'm conducting design research partnered with Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Center and The Boeing Company. I'm set on becoming a UX/UI (user experience/interface) designer and/or researcher. The landscape of digital interfaces is constantly changing, and I'm drawn to design work that can solve big issues for ordinary people, such as making healthcare or education tools more accessible.
